Our Story

Headscience was created to promote and extend the positive effects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to corporate staff.

As many as 42% of employees call in sick claiming to be suffering from a physical illness when the real reason is a mental health issue.

Mental health awareness is the way forward and enlightened business owners and managers acknowledge the benefits of mental health support in the workplace. When stress and personal issues are under control, an employee is far more focused and productive, and of course, happier.

Mandy Kloppers, the Director of Headscience understands how CBT is used to create positive change and a healthy working dynamic. The positive effects are evidence-based and have been proven to improve morale, motivation, productivity and presenteeism.

Meet the Founder

I'm an accredited CBT psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in mental health. I've run my own private practice since 2009 seeing individuals and couples seeking counselling.

Many clients have sought help to manage difficult working environments.

Cognitive Behavioural therapists are educated to Post-Graduate level. The CBT course is gruelling - I know, I've completed it! The training is full time for one year at University or two years part time.

Therapists in training have their sessions recorded and graded according to 12 strict criteria such as: pacing, collaboration, interpersonal effectiveness as well as the methods used to bring about active change in the client. Cognitive Behavioural Therapists are highly skilled and trained to deal with mental health issues with deft efficiency which is far superior to standard counsellors, who often only have a first degree and are not educated to Post-Graduate level. This is why Headscience only employs BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapists.
